Dutch & Co was selected by BSM Maritime Training Center Ghana Ltd. to design, engineer, supply, and construct a 161 kWp grid-tie rooftop solar PV solution at the Maritime Training Center. This center, a wholly owned subsidiary of the global Schulte Group, commissioned the solar PV installation to meet its energy needs while promoting environmental sustainability.
The new rooftop solar installation is projected to generate 231,035 kWh of green, stable, and clean electricity in its first year of operation, and over 5,506,095 kWh throughout its lifetime. This solar system’s power output is equivalent to electrifying 325 homes and will reduce Schulte’s carbon footprint by 3,304 tons of CO2 emissions.
Upon commissioning, Captain Joshua Nii Addo, Director of BSM Maritime Training Center Ghana Ltd., commented, “We are committed to clean energy and the reduction of CO2 emissions in this center where we will be training both marine professionals and shore personnel to high standards, showing our commitment to providing tailored marine solutions in respect of training within the sub-region.”
