In 2023, Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Ghana (Scancom), commissioned Dutch & Co to design, engineer, supply and construct the 506KWp solar PV rooftop solution at their Sakaman Switch site in Accra.
Utilizing Jinko’s Tiger Pro modules with a 550 power class, Huawei Sun2000 KTL50 inverters and Esdec mounting structures, the system will help MTN Ghana achieve one of its “Road to Zero” promises – installing a solar PV system on one of their buildings.
In November 2023, the site went live.
Commenting on the development, Dutch & Co’s General Manager, Mr Herbert Friese said, “We have completed solar energy projects for MTN Ghana before, therefore we were delighted to be able to install another significant project for them that will produce clean, stable, affordable and green electricity for the company. These high quality solar PV panels will decrease the opex of MTN Ghana whilst reducing their carbon footprint.”
