Dutch & Co. completes Africa’s Largest Rooftop Project: A Milestone in Renewable Energy Development

The PV Solar project, owned by Helios Solar Company, a subsidiary of LMI Holdings, a privately owned Ghanaian conglomerate is situated in the Tema Free Zone Enclave and will supply 16.82 megawatts of energy to Enclave Power Company, another subsidiary of LMI Holdings.

The project comprises 29,262 solar panels utilizing the latest N-type technology across a rooftop area of 95,754 m² at the International Warehousing Company Mega Warehouse in the Tema Freezone. A total of 128 Ghanaian nationals were directly employed in the implementation of the project, highlighting its contribution to local job creation.

The solar plant is expected to produce 24,750 MWh of clean, stable, and sustainable electricity annually. This amount of power is equivalent to the annual consumption of 55,000 homes, demonstrating the plant’s capacity to generate a significant amount of electricity.

Dutch and Co. (D&C) served as the PV – Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor. The company’s expertise ensured the project adhered to international standards and significantly advanced Ghana’s renewable energy infrastructure.

The Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, Hon. Herbert Krapa commissioned the project on July 25th, 2024. This marked the beginning of a new era in Ghana’s Energy sector, with the project set to make a lasting impact on the country’s environmental and economic landscape.
